Recipe of the week - Jaggery Tea

Jaggery is loaded with iron and essential minerals like magnesium and potassium. It purifies the blood, strengthens the body and also offsets the damage done by pollution to the lungs. Brew this tea to help cure dry or wet cough, indigestion, and constipation.
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons jaggery
  • 2 tablespoons tea leaves
  • 4 broken green cardamom seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup milk

  1. Heat 1 cup of water in a non-stick pan. Add cardamom, fennel seeds, crushed peppercorns and tea leaves and bring to a boil.
  2. Add milk and bring to a boil.
  3. Put jaggery in a tea pot and strain in the prepared tea mixure. Stir until the jaggery dissolves.
  4. Serve hot.
